Dear Home and Friends,
Wow, this week has gone by so slowly! It feels like it's been two years since the last time I wrote home. Lots of things have happened, can't divulge all of it but it's been a crazy week!
This week we had two exchanges! And on one of the exchanges we had to drive to Ellensburg, which is an hour north of Yakima, we made a pit-stop at a rest-stop and Mount Adams and Mount Rainer were super clear! I couldn't help but catch some photos! (See below!) Exchanges are always so much fun, I always learn something new!
Another cool thing: the other day we were eating dinner at a branch members home and we were talking, and randomly the Sister says, "Life is like an Avocado." and then she goes on talk how one of the avocados she had cut was firm and looked appealing from the outside, but then the inside was gross! And then, she had another Avocado that was kind of mushy on the outside, but when she had opened it, it was perfectly fine! So life is truly like an avocado, on the surface, or from an outward perspective it's may see great/ our it may seem like not the best, but then when you open it up that greatness hid mushiness, or that not the best surface kept all the goodness inside.Which do you want, Great surface, but not so nice insides (Right in photo) or mushy outside, but firm and good inside (left in photo)? And the molé was super good too!
Miracle of the week! Last night we had some time to do some finding, and we were able to try by this referral we have tried by multiple times, but she's never been home. Anyways, we tried by last night and she was home- first miracle! Second, she let us right in! As we began to teach, in Spanish of course, I was having such a hard time talking about the Restoration(which is kind of weird considering 1. How often we teach the Restoration in Spanish and 2. how long I've been out)! I could also tell that my companion was struggling too. It was so HARD! But as I started to share the First Vision, in Joseph Smith's own words, it came naturally (like I'd memorized it or something.... weird :P ) Anywhosers. As I shared the First Vision with her, this lady started to cry. And after I finished, I asked her how she felt, and she said "Good, but I can't really explain it." I asked if it felt like something was trying to building from inside her, and that it wasn't unpleasant, and she said "Sí!" And I was able to testify that what she was feeling was the Spirit! And then she started to cry harder, it was so incredibly special. I feel so blessed our Heavenly Father counted me special enough to be a part of that miracle and feel of the sweet Spirit that filled that sister's home!
Have a great week!
Love,
Hermana Dee
