Hello Family and Friends!!
Wow! This week has both flown by and dragged on and on! Saying goodbye to a place that has become Home, with people who have become Family, and that both will forever hold a place in my heart! I miss the town and the people, but I know I will come back to visit!
Being doubled in has its highs and its lows. Highs- you and your companion are on the same page, you don't know anybody. You get to introduce yourselves to everybody, and everyone is super friendly. Lows- You have absolutely no idea where to go, you have to meet everybody and try and remember all the faces with the names. The area we are serving in is HUGE! It takes about 30 mins to drive from the West side all the way to the East side, via the Freeway. It's crazy, but we bought a GPS so that has helped us stop driving in circle after circle. Haha.
I mentioned last week that two of the people I have been teaching since April, were entering into the waters of baptism on this past Saturday, and my companion and I were able to attend! So back to Home we went! It was amazing, seeing two people whom I love making covenants- promises- with our Heavenly Father. They shine with the light of Christ in them! They say I changed their lives for the better, but they changed mine.
Another Highlight this week: The English Elders in the Area sent us a referral to this Hispanic home. So off we went to meet this referral, only to be told that they are Jehovah Witnesses! And that they want to teach us. My companion and I had a great laugh in the car afterwards.
Another Highlight: The one progressing Investigator that the Elders before us had been teaching is super awesome! He tells us that he wants to be baptized and we were able to put him on date for July 11th!
Miracles are abounding here in Toppenish!
Hope everyone has a great week!!
Love,
Hermana Dee
